OUR MISSION

Hope for the Nations (HFTN) exists in order to create hope in the lives of “Children at Risk” in developing countries. Hope for the Nations focuses on children are “at-risk” due to conflict and war, extreme poverty and child trafficking.

To this end, Hope for the Nations helps to create community-based environments of care and opportunity for orphans and vulnerable children, while equipping and supporting their caregivers and communities towards this goal. By investing in children, Hope for the Nations believes that it is possible for “Today’s Orphans” to become “Tomorrow’s Leaders”.

Hope for the Nations works in partnership with other organizations towards the fulfillment of the UN Millenium Development Goals, and is committed to ensuring that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is upheld in the communities in which we work.

OUR CORPORATE VALUES

Faith-based Principles & Local Community

Hope for the Nations is a faith-based Christian development organization that is dedicated to working with, and on behalf of, the world’s most marginalized and vulnerable population - orphans and vulnerable children. Motivated by our faith in God’s love for these children and His ability to transform lives, we are committed to standards of excellence in care and believe that children grow and develop best in a loving environment within a community setting.

Coalition & Partnership

Hope for the Nations believes that coalition and partnership with local organizations is essential to sustainable development and local ownership of projects.

Volunteerism & Accountability

Volunteerism and accountability are central to all of Hope for the Nation’s work. Accordingly, all directors, staff and volunteers are accountable to the Hope for the Nations Board of Directors. All financial transactions are open to the scrutiny of the Canadian, US and UK governments, the Board of Directors, and any who ask.

Inclusion

Hope for the Nations serves children from all backgrounds regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.

OUR STRATEGY

Hope for the Nations makes a difference by starting the process of change.

More than a rescue operation, Hope for the Nations (HFTN) works in partnership with local and international organizations towards the long-term goal of seeing ‘Children at Risk’ transformed into ‘Tomorrow's Leaders’ through the provision of loving care, healthcare and education, and through building healthy communities and self-sufficiency. HFTN does this by focusing on improving the human security and capacity of the children and communities that it works for, all in a sustainable way.

Hope for the Nations believes that the only way to address the monumental challenges facing 'Children at Risk' is through coalition and partnerships. Accordingly, HFTN strategically aligns itself with nationals who share HFTN’s vision and values, but who may not have the means to carry it out. Hope for the Nations’ “coalitions" always include:

  • Leadership who oversee, guide and direct projects;
  • Organizations that facilitate the operation of the Children's Homes;
  • Entrepreneurs who fuel projects through expertise, labor or finances;
  • National Participation by leaders who share our vision and commitment.
