Pattaya, ThailandIntroduction & Overview
The work of MERCY with the children of Pattaya began in 2000 as a result of our desire to help ‘street children’ of the city, who live most of their young lives “at risk”, ranging from simple but life hindering neglect or the more dangerous potential of being caught up in the life threatening environment of crime, drugs and sexual abuse that surround them.

We care for the poorest of the poor … from some of the most difficult backgrounds and behaviors imaginable.
1. Short-term intervention:
- Children at risk: Provide shelter, food, clothes, medical care, practical help as needed, Christian ministry
- Women with children at risk: Provide shelter, food, clothes, life skills training, medical care & other practical help as needed, as we are able. (See single parent support project begun February 2005)
2. Long-term planning:
- Children at risk who are unwanted or abandoned: Facilitate long-term foster care or adoption
- Develop a network of organizations & individuals with similar goals & values.
