This children's home currently cares for over a dozen children. A second home has recently been opened in the neighboring community of Colomo. You can initiate the application process for volunteering, which is one way you can help.
The philosophy of this home is one of long term commitment and care, with a focus on building a family structure, similar to a foster care approach.
Hope For The Nations, Casa Hogar Para El Nino Manzanillense, A. R. and Greensboro Mission Society are coalition partners in these children's homes.
Carlos and Yolanda Arcila are the main house parents. They have cared for the children since the opening of the home. Carlos is an electro- mechanical engineer, who together with his wife and 5 children moved to Manzanillo from Mexico City. They yearn to contribute to the lives of these children, who though they are not their own, Carlos and Yolanda see them as an important part of their lives and also as part of their family.
In addition to the home in Manzanillo, the additional home was opened because the first one was rapidly filling up. So, in 2002, the doors opened to the new Children's Home in El Colomo. Carlos Jr. and his wife Rocio, who have worked in the first home for years, are now the house parents of the new home. In addition to their own two children, they began the home with 4 children, 2 of which the Mexican Social Services has since returned to live with family members. Our desire is that God will send to the new home the children that have need of the love and care that Carlos Jr. and Rocio will provide.
