After a serious floor we were asked by the people of Issoh Village to help them with some toilets as many in the village had been washed away and the chief was concerned about disease and lack of good sanitation. In fact shortly after the flood there was a cholera outbreak in the region.
Thanks to some sponsors we were able to work with the villagers to build a community toilet block of 4 toilets. The villagers helped with the work and also built of their own initiative a concrete basin for people to wash their hands.
A simple project but one that has the potential to keep diseases such as cholera out of the village and save lives.
