    Sew creative!

I have been speaking to Grace about sewing. She is the "mother" to the 30 kids who live with her. I like to sew a little. She wants to know how to sew. So we've been chatting.

Many people are sewing these days. It's a creative expression, sometimes relaxing, sometimes essential to repair something, and occassionally, it can earn you some money when you need it.

It feels good to know that you could whip up some gorgeous little dress, or some comfortable little pants. You can upcyle, recycle, modify, and create.

Grace would like to be able to have these options also. She wants to teach the kids how to sew, which is really just a great idea for every child to learn how. She is also hoping to sew while the children are in school to generate some extra income.

We already have enough for 3 sewing machines! We are really hoping to aquire a serger, and some suplies also.

If you are interested in helping to provide for these needs please make a donation for this project!

Thank you so much! I am so excited to hear about creativity flowing there in Myanmar!

We only need about $500 for this project!

We already have enough for 3 sewing machines! Thank you to those donors! Now we just need a serger and some supplies!

    Don't worry about tomorrow...

Recently, I have had the privilege of getting to know Grace and Run Lian,
What a beautiful couple. Their heart is so full of thankfulness.

They are continuing to grow mushrooms, and sell them at the local market.
They found that they needed to add to the generous donations of mushroom
pots they had already received, so a donor supplied $1000 for more pots!!
They are so thankful to know that they will be able to provide for more of
the needs of the home soon.

The children are so thankful for what they have, and do not focus on what
they do not have. Many of the 28 children they care for  stand in need of
basic necessities however, like sandals, and toothbrushes. It is their hopes
that sponsors for the children will step forward, so they can be sure to
maintain a certain level of care for them.

Recently one of the girls required medical attention, and had to stay in the
hospital. Esther had some fluid in her lungs and was feeling too ill to
continue her studies. Hope for the Nations was able to help with funds to
pay for the costly medical expenses, and the hospital allowed Esther to
continue her care at home! She was so relieved to be feeling better and
resting at home. She is able to do her studies from home while recovering.

Grace recently took a childcare training course and learned many new things.
She desires to give the children the best care she can.

They spend their days praying, visiting neighbours and showing the love of
God. They enjoy encouraging other people. The children often sing a song
that says, "Don't worry about tomorrow, for God said I am with you." It is
good for everyone to be reminded!

I can't help but see the evidence, as I see what he is doing in these
beautiful lives. He certainly is providing for them, and continues to do so
through donors. Together, we can all make a difference!

    Mushrooms & Micro-enterprise

There is a saying that goes like this: "You do your part and God will do His part"

Grace and Run Lian needed funds for their children's home. They landed on the idea of growing mushrooms and were shown how to develope their idea by a local merchant. They began with 200 'pots'.

A friends from Canada came to visit and was so impressed he invested in an additional 300 pots. Another source added 200 more pots. The production is well under way.

    Grace writes:

"Mushroom seem to be good profit now and from now on we are collecting 4/5 kgs every morning. We are excited about this project."

We all agree that Grace and Run are doing their part!
