King of Glory Ministries International was founded by Kevin and Kathy Basconi in 2004, and has worked to help build children's homes for 'at risk' children since then.
The Basconi's have sought to help widows and orphans in several nations as they have traveled to preach the gospel of the kingdom. King of Glory Ministries International has been helping and feeding orphans in Mwanza, Tanzania for many years. Today we continue to work to build children's homes in Tanzania.
The Walckzuk Home ~ A New Model in Tanzania: We have begun to move forward with a new model for helping orphans and building children's homes. Rather than making the children's homes totally dependant on "western donations" or "child sponsors" we have purposed to help the pastors and leaders of these homes become "self sufficient" relying on God as their source and not donations from well meaning people from Western churches and nations.
We hope to make the new children's homes as "self sufficient" as possible. We will not lean towards a "sponsorship" model, but rather we will equip the homes with basic rudimentary tools, skills, resources, and equipment to meet the needs of the children that are living in each home.
This home, is placed on 4 acres of cultivatable land. We are encouraging the host, Philadelphia Gospel Assembly to teach the orphans how to grow crops such as corn, tomatoes, casaba root, and beans. In addition to this we hope to provide the children's home with chickens, cows, and goats. From these they can raise chickens and eggs to sell. They can get free milk and meat from the goats and cows, and in doing so the orphans will learn valuable skills and trades.
Dotto Exekiel is a tailor by trade. This is a valuable skill and job in East Africa. We will purchase sewing machines that will enable the children to learn to make their own clothes and earn extra monies by mending others clothing. Dotto, as one of the elders of the church, will be on hand to help oversee the new home and teach the children the trade of a tailor.
We have been working on the new home for two years and the structure is now nearly finished. There is still a lot of work to do before we can "take in" orphans and meet their needs. We have found that Tanzania is a very expensive country, (by African standards) in which to build orphanages. The government and Department of Social Services has very strict and firm laws that oversee orphans and we are seeking to build with the cooperation of the government and the Department o Social Services.
Kevin has met in the past with the Mayor of Mwanza to obtain the land that the new home currently stands on. The home has a water line run to within 20 feet of the new structure. Now we just need to complete the final work on the home and we can begin to help more orphans in the area.
This new project, the new Walckzuk Home will be used to rescue 16 to 24 more orphans. However, there are many items currently needed to complete the construction and open the home to receive the children.
The Tanzania Government is requiring us to meet strict standards for the new home, and our friend Bishop Zenibious Isaya is working hard to make sure that the new home is registered properly with the government and will meet all codes and government constraints. Your donations to meet any part or complete the finalization of the construction would be greatly appreciated.
Perhaps you might be interesting in helping us finalize these homes and make them ready for the children. Please consider helping King of Glory Ministries International by making a onetime or monthly tax-deductible donation to this work.
