A story from Karla with HOPE agent, Provision of Hope, Mexico . . .

My name is Karla and I am from Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the call that God made into my life a little more than three years ago when I was going through a very difficult and painful time.
At the time, even though I was in extreme emotional pain I still needed to go on with my life for the sake of my little girl. In the mornings I worked in a restaurant at that time, and when I finished my shift I immediately needed to run to school to pick up my young daughter. My life was very complicated and sad because my husband had abandoned me and I needed to fill the role of both mother and father at the same time for my daughter.
At that time I met two very special people whom I have since always thought of as being spokesmen for God because they arrived at just the right time when I was asking God to give me the strength to go on. Sister Cristina and Alicia told me about a sewing school and workshop which they had opened in the area called Costuras Cristy (Cristi’s Sewing), which they said would give me the opportunity to learn something new in order to earn a living, and to produce an income for my daughter and me.
Upon their invitation I became a student at their school and workshop with great excitement because I knew that if I could learn the trade of tailoring I would be able to make clothing and sell them and not have to neglect my daughter for long periods of time at home alone. This would be a dream come true for both of us.
When I began I knew nothing about sewing, but I placed my whole heart into it and after a lot of effort, little by little I was able to pick up the skills required and to do many things on my own.
Today, because of the grace of our precious Lord, my husband and I are back together once more and we are now blessed with a new baby boy as well. God has blessed me so very much!
