Our house was formed in Phnom Penh to assist with the aftercare efforts for Cambodian children who have been trafficked, traumatized, or who have undergone extreme abuse. Resident children may also be disabled in some manner and need more attentive care. Our efforts in counseling, education, medical and daily care, seek to further their ongoing restoration and healing.
Education Empowerment is a child sponsorship program that provides funding for private school education including school supplies, uniforms, shoes, school fees, transport, haircuts/personal care items, and birth certificates necessary to attend school. There is also a corresponding lunch program, providing one nutritious meal a day to those enrolled in the education program. For some, this is the only meal they will eat that day. Education is empowerment and a way we can break the cycle of poverty that leads to exploitation.
