After School Program
The After School Program is a place for Roma and Romanian children to come and be encouraged. Children are given backpacks, school supplies, and clothing, if needed. The diverse volunteer staff share the love of God with these children, help with their studies, foster positive social interactions, and encourage students to continue their education through high school and university.
The Hospital Project exists to fill a void in the lives of children who are abandoned at the Brasov Children’s Hospital. Whether it is a child who is fully abandoned or one that is left in the institution to receive care for a period of time, our mission is to be the loving hands that these children are missing.
This preschool program benefits the young children of Budila. During team visits to the village, it was obvious there was a lack of supervision and guidance for children, who spend their days roaming the streets. After starting a high school mentorship program, it became even more apparent that children in this community needed to have educational experiences as early as possible. Each week children aged 3-7 come for a two-hour program at the schoolhouse. The curriculum aims to teach children about the Bible, hygiene, manners, and behavioral guidance. Practices such as hand washing, listening, and respectful interactions with one another are mostly all new concepts for these children.
