On Aug 7th we'll be spending my birthday giving back and Hiking For Hope.
I feel like we've been given a gift just being born here, in a place with plenty of opportunity and most necessities for living. After spending the last 2 years travelling to different parts of the world, it became very clear that not everyone else has the same opportunity, and we'd love for you to help us change that!
On Aug 7th Mark and I will be climbing Half Dome in Yosemite (8,800 ft to the top!) to raise money for Hope For The Nations. For every foot we hike we want to raise $1. Our goal is to raise $8800 to rebuild a Hope Home that is part of the Hope For The Nations community in Liberia.
What are Hope Homes?
After a civil war in 1997, 85 war-affected children were placed into 47 Hope For The Nations foster homes.
Another war broke out in 2003 and the Ganta area was tragically affected again. However, some of these children now have a stable home environment, and each child in Hope care has free tuition in the Hope Academy.
The Hope farm is located on 25 acres where short term and long term crops are produced. The children are the first recipients of the food and the left overs are sold on the open market and reinvested in the farm. Moringa is one of the primary focuses at the farm as it helps wipe out malnourishment.
Our goal is to raise money so HOPE can rebuild a foster home. Many of the homes have leaky roofs and no flooring, we want to change that.
On Aug 30th I will be donating 100% of my photography earnings to the fundraiser. I will be shooting 4 headshot sessions at a minimum donation of $225 (spots are limited so please email firstname.lastname@example.org to secure your session), and there will be a 100% matching on all donations up to the goal we are trying to reach, so it's kind of like your donating double the funds :)
Instead of wishing me a Happy Birthday, I ask that you pay it forward. Whatever you can give, every dollar counts towards creating a brighter future for those in need.
Please join us, let’s take action and build a house!!
Loads of love, Natalia & Mark
