FOOD FOR THOUGHT IN OUR COMMUNITY

Food for Thought
We have been truly overwhelmed by the community support gathering around our Food for Thought programs!
Thanks to our amazing coordinator Cheryl, and her team of committed volunteers they have been able to pivot the programming from delivering 1600 breakfasts per day in our community to providing over 600 emergency food packages weekly to families in need. It hasn’t been easy, with the shortage of food, physical distancing among just a few of the hurdles but the team showed up and continues to make it happen each and every week.
Thanks to government grants and other local non-profits emergency funds, businesses and individual donors we have been able to continue this program. We are so grateful we have been able to support families in our own community through this pandemic.
Exciting things are happening out at Helens Acres with our brand-new Food for Thought garden project as well. We are looking forward to sharing with the community an amazing volunteer opportunity to help garden fresh produce for our backpack program. The team has been super busy prepping the land, building and staining the 21 wheelchair accessible raised planters!
Keep an eye out for an exciting fundraiser coming soon, all 21 planters will be available to purchase/donate for $250.00 we will attach a plaque of dedication for the person of your choice!
