Hope for the Nations leaders strive to demonstrate the belief, hope and courage required to make change – the same courage required for at-risk children to start over with a second chance at a better life.

Board of Directors


Ralph Bromley is president and co-founder of Hope For The Nations. His passion for the issues facing children at risk has taken him to many nations of the world. He uses the tools of coalition and entrepreneurship to help shape a world fit for the child. Ralph and his wife Donna have three children and seven grandchildren.


Nick Arkle has been a country director for the Himalayan region since we began in 1994. He’s been providing oversight of projects in Nepal and Northern India. Nick Graduated from UBC (1984) in the BSF program Obtaining Registered Professional Forester status in 1987. He sits on numerous boards in the city of Kelowna including United Way and UBC-Okanagan President’s Advisory Council.


Stephanie Hunter is an individual with a heart for children at risk. She has travelled widely as a photographer and country director for Hope for the Nations. Her travels have taken her to the Himalayas, Afghanistan and Kenya, and the streets of the massive cities of the world. Stephanie’s photography has been featured on websites, at global conferences, and in her book On the Fragile Feet of Children.


Alphil Guileran is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Financial Literacy Council, which serves over 700 private, institutional and corporate clients. He received his BA from the University of British Columbia in Political Science and Economics. Alphil and his team of legal, accounting, and financial management specialists are passionate about building financially literate generations.


Josh Byron is inspired to see individuals engaged in issues of social justice both locally and internationally. A graduate of UBC Okanagan, he’s also the Assistant Director of Global Citizen Kelowna. During the day you can find Josh working with Moving Pixel Productions web development studio, and dreaming of ways to leverage technology to advance the work of nonprofits.


Ken McAllister and his wife Linda live in Vancouver and have four sons. Ken has owned Midland Liquidators for 28 years, buying and selling deals of all kinds. Ken has been travelling to Liberia for 15 years working with malnourished and at-risk children.
